RESOLUTION ON BUREAU FOR TROPICAL FORESTRY RESEARCH


The Council of Ministers of the OAU, meeting in its Thirty-fourth Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa Ethiopia from 6 to 15 February 1980,


Recalling Res. CM/559 (XXIX) adopted by the Council of Ministers and approved by the Heads of State and Government in Libreville, 1977, relating to the establishment of an Inter-African Bureau for Tropical Forest Research:


  1. APPROVES the recommendations made by the Inter-African Scientific Consultants on Tropical forestry upon instruction of the Heads of State;


  1. REAFFIRMS the establishment of an Inter-African Bureau for Tropical Forestry Research;


  1. RECOMMENDS that the Secretary-General take the necessary measures to ensure a take off of the Tropical Forestry Research Bureau by presenting the financial implications of the project to the next Advisory Committee meeting.
