VOTE OF THANKS
The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity meeting in its Fortieth Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 27 February to 5 March 1984,
Expressing satisfaction at the excellent atmosphere that led to the smooth running of the deliberations of the Fortieth Ordinary Session in a spirit of brotherhood and cordiality,
Expressing satisfaction with the competent manner in which the Chairman of the Council of Ministers has directed the deliberations of this Session:
EXPRESSES its PROFOUND GRATUDE to the Government and people of Socialist Ethiopia for the warm and fraternal welcome accorded the delegations of OAU Member States;
FURTHER EXPRESSES its thanks to Comrade Mengistu Haile Mariam, Chairman of the Provisional Military Administrative Council and of COPWE, Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Socialist Ethiopia and Current Chairman of the OAU for his important address, full of wisdom, delivered before this Council’s Ses sion and for his continued efforts to bring lasting solutions and peace to Chad and Western Sahara;
COMMENDS the Chairman of the Council for the competent manner in which he directed the deliberations during the Session;
THANKS the Secretary-General a.i. and the General Secretariat for the lucid and detailed reports presented to the Council and for their devotion to duty manifested throughout the Session.
