Council:

  1. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the Secretary-General;

  1. EXPRESSES CONCERN over the continued unjust economic measures whose effect is felt beyond the region of the country concerned in violation of the international law, thus undermining the interests of other countries, especially the developing ones.

They also caused a lot of economic and social harm that has a spill over on the neighbouring countries and peoples;

  1. EMPHASISES the need to put an immediate end to these measures in order to realize the aims and objectives of the OAU and the Member States and their aspiration and right to achieve economic growth and development;

  2. REAFFIRMS that in the exercise of the inalienable right of economic growth and social advancement, OAU Member States demand an immediate end to these sanctions which go beyond the territorial boundaries of the country concerned based on repressive economic measures and legislations unilaterally imposed by one country to the detriment of other countries beyond its boundaries which is not acceptable;

  3. RECOMMENDS to the Member States to adopt or vote in the favour of the resolution submitted by the Great Jamahiriya under the title of "Elimination of the Unjust Economic Measures as an instrument of Economic and Political Coercion" which will be presented during the forthcoming Fifty-third General Assembly of the Organization of United Nations.
