DECISION ON THE ACCESSION OF THE AFRICAN UNION TO THE UNITED
NATIONS FRAMEWORK CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE
(UNFCCC) AND THE KYOTO PROTOCOL

The Executive Council,

1. TAKES NOTE of the Concept Note on the justifications for the African Union Accession to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol;

2. RECOMMENDS that the Assembly authorizes the African Union to accede to UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol.
