DECISION ON THE SECOND ORDINARY SESSION OF THE AFRICAN UNION
CONFERENCE OF MINISTERS IN CHARGE OF ENERGY (CEMA)

The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the report of the Second Ordinary Session of the African Union Conference of Ministers in charge of Energy (CEMA), held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 12-16 November 2012;
2. ENDORSES:
i) the recommendations of the report of the Second Ordinary Session of the African Union Conference of Ministers in charge of Energy in AFRICA (CEMA);
ii) Resolution on Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL);
iii) Resolution on Africa Bioenergy Policy Framework and Guidelines;
iv) Resolution on the Implementation of the PIDA Energy Priority Action Plan;
v) Resolution on Investment Financing and the Role of Public-Private Partnership in the Development of Renewable Energy;
vi) Resolution on the African Energy Information System & Database (AEIS);
3. REQUESTS the African Union Commission to take all the necessary measures in collaboration with the Member States, Regional Economic Communities, specialised institutions and other stakeholders to speed up the implementation of the Resolutions;
4. APPEALS to the AU Member States, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa; the African Development Bank, the bilateral and multilateral partners to support the implementation of the adopted resolutions.
