Regulation C/REG.2/12/2001 Approving the Budget of the Executive Secretariat for the 2002 Financial Year

The Council of Ministers,MINDFUL of Articles 10, 11 and 12 of the Treaty establishing the Council of Ministers and defining its composition and functions:MINDFUL of the provisions of Article 69 of the Treaty which relate to the budget of the Commu­nity;MINDFUL of the Financial Regulations and Manual of Accounting Procedures of the institutions of ECOWAS amended by Regulation C/REG.2/12/95;HAVING CONSIDERED the budget of the Execu­tive Secretariat proposed by the Twenty-Seventh meeting of the Administration and Finance Com­mission held in Abuja from 27 November to 3 De­cember, 2001.ENACTS

Article 1

The budget of the Executive Secretariat for the 2002 Financial Year, balanced in income and expenditure at the sum of twelve million, seven hundred and thirty one thousand, five hundred Units of Accounts (12,731,500 UA) is hereby approved.

Article 2

An amount of nine million, five hundred and sixty-one thousand Units of Accounts (9,561,000 UA) shall be derived from the annual contributions of Member States. A sum of three million Units Ac­counts (3,000,000 UA) shall be obtained from ar­rears paid in respect of past budgets, and an­other sum of one hundred and seventy thousand, five hundred Unit of Accounts (170,500 UA) shall be derived from other sources.

Article 3

This Regulation shall be published by the Executive Secretariat in the Official Journal of the Community within thirty (30) days of its signature by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers. It shall also be pub­lished by each Member State in its National Ga­zette within the same time-frame.
