Regulation C/REG.4/12/01 Approving the Budget of the Community Parliament for the 2002 Financial Year

The Council of Ministers,MINDFUL of Articles 10, 11 and 12 of the Treaty establishing the Council Ministers and defining its composition and functions;MINDFUL of Article 13 of the Treaty establishing the Community Parliament;MINDFUL of Protocol A/P.2/8/94 defining the method of election of the members of the Community Parliament, its composition, functions, powers and organisation;MINDFUL of the provisions of Article 69 of the Treaty which relate to the budget of the Community;MINDFUL of the Financial Regulations and Manual of Accounting Procedures of the Institutions of ECOWAS amended by Regulation C/REG.2/12/95;HAVING CONSIDERED the budget of the Community Parliament proposed by the Twenty-Seventh meeting of the Administration and Finance Commission held in Abuja from 27 November to 3 December 2001;ENACTS

Article 1

The budget of the Community Parliament for the 2002 Financial Year balanced in income and expenditure at the sum of six million, one hundred and thirty-eight thousand, three hundred and sixteen Units of Accounts (6,138,316 UA) is hereby approved.

Article 2

An amount of five million, one hundred and thirty-eight thousand, three hundred and sixteen Units of Accounts (5,138,316 UA) shall be derived from the annual contributions of Member States. A sum of one million Units of Accounts (1,000,000 UA) shall be obtained from arrears paid in respect of past budgets.

Article 3

This Regulation shall be published by the Executive Secretariat in the Official Journal of the Community within thirty (30) days of its signature by the Chairman of the Council of minsters. It shall also be published by each Member State in its National Gazette within the same time-frame
