Summoning of a Meeting of the National Assembly

Government Notice 148 of 2020

WHEREAS it is provided by section 93 (1) of the Constitution that the President may at any time summon a meeting of the National Assembly;AND WHEREAS a state of public emergency exists;
NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 93 (1) of the Constitution, I, Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana, do hereby summon Parliament to meet and that meeting shall be held at Gaborone, at such time and on such days as the Assembly shall appoint.GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal at Gaborone this 31st day of March, 2020.Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi,President.
