DECISION ON THE REVISED FINANCIAL RULES
AND REGULATIONS OF THE AFRICAN UNION

The Executive Council,

1. RECALLS its decision (EX.C/Dec.728 (XXII) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia adopting International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) which calls for the realignment of the financial management of the AU to the international standards;

2. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the PRC on the revised Financial Rules and Regulations and ENDORSES its recommendations;

3. ADOPTS the new Financial Rules and Regulations of the African Union with the exception of Article 22;

4. REQUESTS the African Union Organs to fully implement the provisions of the said Financial Rules and Regulations;

5. DECIDES that the revised Financial Rules and Regulations supersede the previous one and will be in force as of the date of adoption.
