DECISION ON THE REPORT OF THE COMMISSION ON
DEVELOPMENT OF THE AFRICAN UNION AGENDA 2063

The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the Commission on the development of the African Union Agenda 2063, as well as the detailed Progress Report and the Draft Framework document that have been submitted to Member States;
2. ACKNOWLEDGES the progress attained in the development of the Framework Document and COMMENDS the efforts of all contributors in this regard;
3. WELCOMES the sustained efforts of the Commission to engage Africans and people of African descent to get their aspirations, and REQUESTS Member States to study the draft framework document and provide the Commission with inputs not later than mid-April 2014, for use in enriching and finalising the Agenda 2063 document;
4. REITERATES its request to the Commission in collaboration with the PRC to expedite the remaining work with the goal of providing a fully developed Draft Agenda 2063 by the Mid-Year AU Summit in June/July 2014, and to submit a comprehensive monitoring and evaluating framework as well as the first ten year implementation plan for consideration in January 2015;
5. REQUESTS the Commission to ensure that the Pan-African Development goals of Agenda 2063 inform Africa’s Common Position on the Post 2015 Development Agenda and other relevant global negotiations.
