RESOLUTION ON THE DEATH OF MANGALISO SOBUKWE PRESIDENT OF THE PAC OF AZANIA


The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity meeting in its Thirtieth Ordinary Session in Tripoli, Libya from 20 to 28 February, 1978,


Having learnt with deep shock and regret of the untimely death of ROBERT MANGALISO SOBUKWE, President of the Pan African Congress of Azania;


Mindful of his role in the struggle for the overthrow of white domination in South

Africa;



Recognizing his conviction in African Unity and Pan Africanism;



Further Mindful of the inhuman conditions imposed on him by the racist Vorster Regime during his period of illness;


  1. EXPRESSES its deep sympathy and condolences to the Pan Africanist Congress, his family and the entire people of South Africa;


  1. CONDEMNS the regime for its callous imprisonment, detention and bounding of Mangalise Sobukwe;


  1. PLEDGES its continued solidarity with the people of South Africa in their struggle for liberation and the restoration of their full human rights.
