RESOLUTION OF THE JOINT MEETING OF THE INFORMATION MINISTERS OF THE OAU MEMBER STATES AND THE LEAGUE OF ARAB STATES
The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity meeting in its Thirtieth Ordinary Session in Tripoli, Libya from 20 to 28 February, 1978,
Having considered the resolution IM/Res. 2 adopted by the First Conference of African Ministers of Information held in Kampala, Uganda;
Recalling all previous resolutions on Afro-Arab Co-operation;
Desirous of strengthening further co-operate on among Africans and Arabs in the field of information and in the creation of a new world information order;
Appreciating the invitation of the Information Ministers of the League of Arab States extended to their African Counter-parts (the African Information Ministers) for a joint meeting of the OAU-League of Arab States;
Welcomes and accepts the holding of the joint meeting:
Invites the Administrative Secretary-General to submit proposals to the competent OAU bodies in Arab-African co-operation and in the field of budgetary and financial matters, and to submit a report in that respect to the Thirty First Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers;
