RESOLUTION ON THE REQUEST FOR AN OAU OBSERVER STATUS SUBMITTED BY THE SOCIALIST AND DEMOCRATIC INTER-AFRICAN
The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity, meeting in its Fifty-fifth Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 24 to 28 February 1992,
Having considered Document CM/1680 (LV) Add.2 relating to the request for an OAU Observer Status received from the Socialist and Democratic Inter -African,
Taking note of the importance of the objectives of the Socialist and Democratic Inter - African, in particular, the promotion of African Unity, promotion of the respect of human rights and fundamental liberties as well as the strengthening of inter-African and international cooperation,
Considering that the request submitted by the Socialist and Democratic Inter -African conforms to the established criteria:
TAKES NOTE of the relevant report of the Secretary-General contained in Document CM/1680 (LV) Add.2;
DECIDES to grant category “C” Observer Status to the Socialist and Democratic Inter-African.
