DECISION ON THE MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ON PREVENTING
AND COMBATING CORRUPTION - Doc. EX.CL/15(11)

The Executive Council:

  1. TAKES NOTE of the Report;

  2. COMMENDS the Ministers responsible for anti-corruption measures and the experts for the work accomplished and the recommendations made;

  3. APPROVES the draft AU Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption as an important mechanism for fighting corruption which is a major obstacle to the social and economic development of the Continent;

4- RECOMMENDS the draft AU Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption to the Second Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Union scheduled for Maputo, Mozambique, in July, 2003 for adoption.
