DECISION ON THE REPORT OF THE INTERIM CHAIRPERSON ON THE
OPERATIONALIZATION OF THE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND
CULTURAL COUNCIL (ECOSOCC)

The Executive Council:

  1. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the Interim Chairperson on the Operationalization of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council of the African Union;

  2. REQUESTS the Chairperson of the Commission to widen the consultations on the draft Statutes with the Civil Society Organizations (CSO)s in order to ensure that a cross section of views of the CSOs is reflected in the draft Statutes;

  3. REQUESTS FURTHER the Chairperson of the Commission to ensure early circulation of the draft Statutes to the PRC, and to organize a meeting for its review, before submission to the 4th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council.
