DECISION ON THE REPORT OF THE INTERIM CHAIRPERSON ON THE DRAFT
PROTOCOL TO THE AU CONVENTION ON THE PREVENTION AND COMBATING OF
TERRORISM

The Executive Council:

  1. TAKES NOTE of the Report;

  2. EXPRESSES APPRECIATION to the Commission for the steps taken to finalize the draft Protocol to the 1999 Algiers Convention on the Prevention and Combating of Terrorism;

  3. TAKES NOTE of the draft Protocol as reviewed by the 92nd Ordinary Session at Ambassadorial Level of the Central Organ of the Mechanism for Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution, held in Addis Ababa on 12th and 13th June 2003;

  4. INVITES the Commission to finalize the draft Protocol and submit it to a Meeting of Experts of Member States, for subsequent submission to the policy organs of the Union.
