DECISION ON AFRICAN CIVIL AVIATION
COMMISSION (AFCAC)

The Executive Council:

  1. TAKES NOTE of the report on AFCAC reflecting the dire financial situation of the Organization;

  2. APPEALS to Member States to pay their due contributions and arrears to the Organization;

  3. FURTHER APPEALS to Member States to pay their contributions to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in order to regain and/or maintain their voting rights;

  4. URGES Member States to support African candidatures to the ICAO Council in the election that will take place during the 35th General Assembly of ICAO scheduled for September/October 2004 in Montreal, Canada;

  5. REQUESTS the Commission to submit a report on these matters to the next Ordinary Session of the Executive Council.
