DECISION ON THE REPORT OF THE
SUB-COMMITTEE ON CONTRIBUTIONS
DOC. EX.CL/88 (V)

The Executive Council:

  1. TAKES NOTE of the Report;

  2. COMMENDS Member States that have paid their contributions;

  3. URGES all the Member States to honour their financial obligations to the Union;

  4. DECIDES that:

  1. The following Member States remain under sanctions:

Central African Republic Democratic Republic of Congo Guinea Bissau

Liberia

Sao Tome and Principe

Seychelles

Somalia

  1. The sanctions imposed on the Union of The Comoros be lifted following payment by that country of its arrears of contributions;

  2. The temporary and exceptional exemption granted to Sierra Leone be maintained because that country observes the implementation of its rescheduling plan;

  3. Member States that have submitted rescheduling plans should conform to the said plans while paying their contributions for the current financial year.

  1. APPEALS to the representatives of the Member States concerned to request their respective countries to make every necessary effort to honour their financial obligations vis-a-vis the Commission so as to enable the latter to successfully accomplish the tasks assigned to it, and submit a report on the results achieved to its next ordinary session;

  2. RECOMMENDS to the Chairperson of the African Union to prevail upon his colleagues to honour the financial obligations of their respective countries.
