DECISION ON THE ELECTION OF JUDGES OF THE
AFRICAN COURT ON HUMAN AND PEOPLES’ RIGHTS

The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the Commission on the Election of Judges of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR);
2. ELECTS the following Judges of AfCHPR for a six(6)-year term:

3. RECOMMENDS the elected Judges for appointment by the Nineteenth Ordinary Session of the Assembly;
4. REQUESTS the Commission to prepare modalities on the implementation of the criteria of equitable geographical representation and gender representation as well as the principal legal traditions for future election of Judges of the Court and submit to the policy organs for consideration during the next ordinary session in January 2013.
