DECISION ON CONCEPT NOTE FOR PROJECT 2018
AND THE 2017-2021 AFRICAN UNION ADVISORY
BOARD ON CORRUPTION STRATEGIC PLAN

The Executive Council
1. RECALLS Decision EX.CL/Dec.951(XXX) requesting the AUABC, in collaboration with the PRC and the AU Commission, to revisit the theme and make appropriate proposals;
2. TAKES NOTE of the Concept Note on Project 2018 which outlines the rationale, activities and theme for 2018 ‘Winning The Fight Against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation’;
3. REQUESTS the AUABC to carry out wider consultations with Member States including national anti-corruption agencies in order to enrich the Concept Note and the draft AU/ABC 2017-2021 Strategic Plan;
4. ALSO REQUESTS the AU Commission to convene an Extraordinary Session of Executive Council or its Bureau in August/September 2017 in order to consider and adopt the Concept Note;
5. RECOMMENDS H.E Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the Champion of the theme for 2018.
