1. Title and commencement.
2. Prohibition of entry into Uganda
The entry into Uganda by any person and the introduction into Uganda of any animal, article or thing at or through any of the border posts of Uganda is with effect from Monday 23rd March 2020, prohibited.3. Exemptions
This Order shall not apply to—3A. Number of persons allowed on board vehicle, etc entering Uganda
A vehicle, vessel or aircraft used for the conveyancing of cargo into Uganda or through Uganda to another country, as the case may be, shall not, except for aircraft which may have only crew, have more than three persons on board.[paragraph 3A inserted by section 2(b) of Statutory Instrument 56 of 2020]3B. Powers of medical officer of health to examine for COVID-19
A medical officer of health shall have power to examine for COVID–19, any person on board a vehicle, vessel or aircraft that is allowed entry into Uganda under this Order and may, for that purpose, enter upon or board the vehicle, vessel or aircraft arriving in Uganda and examine any person on board the vehicle, vessel or aircraft.[paragraph 3B inserted by section 2(b) of Statutory Instrument 56 of 2020]3C. Powers of medical officer of health to isolate or quarantine
3D. Power of medical officer to disinfect vehicle, vessel or aircraft
Where a vehicle, vessel or aircraft that is allowed entry into Uganda under this Order has clinical signs of contamination with COVID–19 or where a medical officer of health has information of contamination of the vehicle, aircraft or vessel with COVID-19, the medical officer of health may decontaminate or cause the decontamination of the affected vehicle, aircraft or vessel.[paragraph 3D inserted by section 2(b) of Statutory Instrument 56 of 2020]4.
