DECISION ON THE INSTITUTIONALIZATION OF
THE AFRICAN PRIVATE SECTOR FORUM

The Executive Council;

  1. TAKES NOTE of the Report;

  2. WELCOMES this initiative and REAFFIRMS the important role of the Private Sector in the development of Africa;

  3. UNDERSCORES the necessity for the private sector to lead the process, while the Commission plays the role of facilitator in the organization of the Forum;

  4. INVITES the Private Sector to finance the organization of the Forum with the facilitation of the Commission;

  5. REQUESTS the Commission with the assistance of ECA, ADB the African Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Labour and Social Affairs Commission to organize the Forum.
